How long will it take to improve my Health?

I design a Wellness Package to get you where you want to go. I do a very thorough exam to get a complete understanding of what is going on.

The symptoms you are experiencing is you body's way of trying to tell you something.To get to where you are today was a process. To get you healthy is also a process.

It is important for you to understand that healing is a process. Be patient with your body and this process. It takes 60 days for red blood cells to regenerate themselves. Repair of soft tissue takes time, anywhere from 30 days to three years.

I have found that for optimal results, general care is provided once to twice a week for eight weeks. During this time I check to see how your body is reacting to the care. I track what is happening to your body during the first eight weeks of care. I assess how your Wellness Package is working for you.

After the initial eight weeks of care, I re-evaluate your condition and modify as necessary your Wellness Package.

Depending on your ability to implement my healing suggestions into your life, the extent of your health problem, your lifestyle, your age, your stress level, any external event that may have exacerbated your condition, your current RX drug regimen, history of corticosteroid use, nutrition, vascular supply, any underlying conditions, (such as diabetes), infection, your treatment schedule can be modified.

After the first eight week evaluation, your frequency of care often changes to once every two weeks for the next eight to twelve weeks. A second re-evaluation is then performed. Depending upon your current condition, your health goals and your lifestyle, you either stay on the same treatment schedule or move to a three week or monthly treatment schedule. I continue to re-evaluate your health progress every eight to twelve treatments and adjust your treatment schedule as well as your Wellness Package, accordingly.

How does Muscular Tension Contribute to Back Pain and Headaches?

Changes can cause stress and anxiety.Stress and anxiety may originate in the mind but they don't stay there.They take up residence in our musculoskeletal system, bringing with them muscular tension and sometimes even structural imbalances.

Back pain and headaches tag faithfully along with muscle tension.The more we hurt, the more we tense our muscles. It's an unfortunate cycle of reactivity to stress.Understanding the cycle is the first step toward stopping it.

Do I Have to take supplements?Can't I get everything I need from food?

Eventually everyone asks this question.Good nutrition is essential for good health.Because people don't eat right, conventional wisdom says that everybody should use vitamin supplementation daily as a foundation of health and nutrition.

This conventional wisdom is supported by research. A 2002 article in the Journal of the American MedicalAssociation, "Vitamins for Chronic Disease Prevention in Adults,"stated… "inadequate intake of several vitamins has been linked to chronic diseases, including coronary heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis."

I always remind my patients that the most expensive supplements are the ones that don't work.  Quality supplements are higher priced, but at the same time just because a supplement costs more does not necessarily mean that it is of the highest quality, meaning that you don't want a supplement with inactive ingredients that you don't even recognize.

Also, an inappropriate diet can also contribute to your body's ability to absorb all the nutrients it can from food, so it is also critical to look at diet before throwing supplements at your problem.  Foods you may think are perfectly appropriate, may not be and could be the source of the problem.
